The delivery of artwork, the reception, and the pickup of art will all happen at the Regions Bank-RSA Tower, 201 Monroe Street, Montgomery, AL, 2nd floor on the mezzanine level. Use the Monroe Street entrance to the RSA Tower for all pickup and deliveries. Proper ID is required to claim art work. Neither MAG nor Regions Bank can store art for this exhibitionPlans for the juror critique are still in process. More to come on that soon.

General Guidelines

  • Artists submit digital images of their work via the ArtCall online submission process.

  • The juror will select art for the exhibition from the digital images. She will select award winners after viewing the artwork at the Regions Bank.

  • Artists may enter no more than four works. Images previously displayed in any Regions Bank exhibit are not eligible for submission to this current exhibit. 

  • Size may not exceed 44 inches in height or width, including frame. Sculptures may not exceed 6’ x 4’ x 4’ (height x width x depth) including any base that is attached to a sculpture. Maximum weight is 150 pounds. Artists must make their own arrangements for works that require special hanging or placement (multi-sectional works, etc.).

  • Art must be original and have been completed in 2018, 2019, or 2020. Artists may not substitute for accepted artworks once the juror has made her selections. No Gicleé reproductions of original art in another medium will be permitted. (For example, no Gicleé prints of oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc.).

  • No additional work may be done on a piece of artwork after the submission of the work. If your artwork is accepted into the show, and you work on it after the submission process, your artwork will be pulled from the exhibit at take in. 

  • If your artwork is selected for the exhibit, it must be the artwork that was submitted for entry. No substitutions are allowed.

  • Art must be finished, dry, framed or gallery wrapped, and suitable for display. Works must hang by a secured wire (no sawtooth, cloth, clothes hanger wire hangers ).
  • This exhibit will be displayed in a public business setting, with bank customers and employees viewing the work. Please keep this in mind when you submit your artwork. MAG or Regions Bank reserves the right to reject any submitted art that is deemed inappropriate for this exhibit.

  • Art must be labeled to match the information on the registration form, which will be used for the catalogue. Tags for your work may be given to you by MAG when you deliver your work to the bank.

  • Images of art selected for the show may be used for promotional purposes by MAG and/or Regions Bank.

  • Any artist whose has no work selected to hang in the exhibit at the Regions Bank will be eligible to have one piece of their artwork displayed in an online gallery on the Montgomery Art Guild website, to be displayed concurrent with the exhibit at Regions Bank.

Digital Images

  • Images should represent the art as accurately as possible.

  • Submit 1 image per two-dimensional entry; 2 images per sculpture entry.

  • The photo of your entry must be 300 ppi, in .JPG or .GIF format or .PNG format. The submission must be between 960 pixels and 4600 pixels on its longest side (that is, it can be no smaller than 960 pixels on its longest side, or no larger than 4600 pixels on the longest side). The maximum file size for an image is 4 mb.

  • All entries must be submitted at https://54thannualregionsbankexhibition.artcall.org.

Participation in the 54th MAG/Regions Bank Exhibition is only open to active members of the Montgomery Art Guild.
The yearly membership fee is annually due in August. You can join the guild and pay your $50 membership fee when submitting for the MAG/Regions Bank exhibition via ArtCall. If you recently paid your membership fee for this current 2020 year, you should have received a promo code via email for submitting to this exhibit. MAG membership provides advance notice of MAG exhibitions, member rates for exhibitions, invitations to workshops, and other benefits. 4. Date created (any work created before 2018 is not eligible for this exhibit)

Awards

$2,750 in Cash Awards.

Liability

Every precaution will be exercised in the handling of the entries. However, the Montgomery Art Guild and Regions Bank will not be responsible for any damage or loss.

Works must be claimed during pick up time on Monday, November 16th, between noon and 4 p.m. only. If unable to pick up work at the designated time, please contact us by email prior to September 27th. Due to the number of artists participating, the guild will be unable to deliver artwork back to artists or hold artwork. DO NOT CONTACT REGIONS BANK REGARDING PICK UP OF ARTWORK. Proper I.D. is required of anyone picking up artwork.

Works claimed by someone other than the artist require a note with:

  • Title of the work

  • Name of the person picking up

  • Signature of the artist

Any unclaimed art after 4 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2020, becomes the property of the Montgomery Art Guild and will be donated to Jackson Hospital Healing Arts Program.

Sales

A 20% commission will be assessed by MAG on the sale of art in the exhibition. Prices will be printed in the catalog. All art will be for sale unless otherwise designated. Artists are responsible for submitting sales tax to the State of Alabama. Please direct sales inquiries to Alisa Koch, Executive Secretary at artguildmontgomery@gmail.com.
